Wow. My good friend, co-author, and guide on everything that has to do with American politics, Murat Iyigun, has started his own blog--and he doesn't even let me know about it... It already has lots of good stuff on it, ranging from the unlikeliest astronomy PhD to liberty ships.
The econ-blogosphere has certainly been expanding greatly. When I first joined it, there were few blogs occupying the niche in the product space that I imagine myself filling. It looks to me like the spanning condition is ever closer to being satisfied, and with the first anniversary of this blog coming soon, I wonder if it is time to get out.
And forgive the pun in the title (you need to know Turkish to get it).
Dani,
In all honesty, if my blogging will drive you away (even if it does so on the margin), I think I owe the public to stop immediately.
Otherwise, I will be haunted the rest of my life.

I only have a BA in econ, but I enjoy your blog immensely - don't stop blogging! It is really a privilege to read not just papers, but direct thoughts on current conditions, of economists that I studied in college!

Your blog is a great source of inspiration for the young generation ''wannabe economists'' like me. Please do not stop blogging.
At the times when the mathematics becomes increasingly boring, i find relief on your blog and continue studying maths (Advanced calculus, Advanced Linear Algebra, Abstract Math.) while bearing this entry in my mind. (http://rodrik.typepad.com/dani_rodriks_weblog/2007/09/why-we-use-math.html9

Don't get out! Vacations are a good thing, but the world will be a worse place if you stop sharing your wisdom with those who aren't at KSG.

yes, yes, don't stop! You really are doing a service to the profession. If I weren't a poor graduate student who will have most of my future wages garnished by sallie mae, I'd even pay for it!

Very good post. Made me realize I was totally wrong about this issue. I figure that one learns something new everyday. Mrs Right learned her lesson! Nice, informative website by the way.

Many places and centers offer business and trade promotions to both buyers and supplier. What about the differences in skill intensities across industries? The job losses in the relatively unskilled-labor intensive battery industry should have little effect on the relatively skilled-labor intensive machinery
