The IMF has put up a video of a presentation of my book and of the discussion that followed. I hate watching myself speak, but I hope not everyone else feels the same way. (Via Marshall Jevons, oddly enough)
Incidentally, the best part of the event, I think, was the question posed by Ted Truman, which had to do with the degree to which my approach differs from an intelligent application of the Washington Consensus. It should be towards the very end, assuming they put up a complete video of the event.
I liked your presentation. I also think that Arvind Subramanian had a valid point: that you downplayed the role of ideology and politics in guiding the WC's policy recommendations? Emphasizing these points would, in my mind, only strengthen your argument that institutions do matter-not just the ones at the national level, but those also at the international level. An interesting question then would be: even if people at IMF and other WC-institutions had always recognized the importance of context-specificity, among others, (assuming these were "competent" people) that you advocate in the book, could they have done anything about it in practice (given the politics and ideology that govern these institutions)?

Many places and centers offer business and trade promotions to both buyers and supplier. What about the differences in skill intensities across industries? The job losses in the relatively unskilled-labor intensive battery industry should have little effect on the relatively skilled-labor intensive machinery

It’s always good to read the video and all this is very beneficial for any individual. I do Forex trading and I find this blog very helpful in every way to do with OctaFX broker through their tidy spreads from 0.1 pips, over 70 instruments, zero balance protection, swap free account, rebate program where we can get up to 50% on all trades even if they are lost, so all this is awesome and allows one to work smoothly in every way and keeps it all easy to do.
