That’s the title the editors at The New Republic picked for the article I wrote based on my new book. It was really hard to get the argument of the book into a short article, and frankly I am not sure I quite succeeded. (You have to be a subscriber to read the whole article or buy the hardcover issue.)
I hope there is enough there though to want to make people read the whole book.
Meanwhile, Andrew Leonard over at Salon.com says he likes the first 20 pages of the book.
UPDATE: The Globalization Paradox is now shipping from Amazon!
I generally think Nation States as a concept is flawed - it is contradictory to migration patterns and fosters racism.
However, this may not apply to the way Nation States appear in your book, so I look forward to read it. and, as I expect it to be superior to the salon article in value for money, I haven't bothered about the latter.)

Question: my alma mater is Thunderbird; did you make any outreach efforts there when circulating your letter?

To see why this makes sense, note that deep economic integration requires that we eliminate all transaction costs traders and financiers face in their cross-border dealings. Nation-states are a fundamental source of such transaction costs. They generate sovereign risk, create regulatory discontinuities at the border, prevent global regulation and supervision of financial intermediaries, and render a global lender of last resort a hopeless dream. The malfunctioning of the global financial system is intimately linked with these specific transaction costs. http://www.nhlreebokjersey.com/

Many places and centers offer business and trade promotions to both buyers and supplier. What about the differences in skill intensities across industries? The job losses in the relatively unskilled-labor intensive battery industry should have little effect on the relatively skilled-labor intensive machinery
